Parnell is also buried at Glasnevin cemetery but unlike O'Connell's extravagant crypt and massive round tower, Parnell's grave is much simpler. He is buried above a mass grave for Cholera victims from the 1840s Today, a simple stone with "Parnell" on it marks his final resting place. A symbol of him being an ordinary man who achieved extraordinary things and reflecting Parnell's wish to be buried with 'the common men and women of Ireland'.
